The 20-Litre bulk water segment (bubble tops) is the backbone of institutional, corporate, and residential water supply in India. Transitioning from heavy, brittle polycarbonate (PC) jars to lightweight, durable, and cost-effective PET jars has become an industry standard. BMR Machinery’s 20 Litre Jar Making Machine is specifically engineered to handle the massive preform weights and extreme blowing pressures required to produce these large-format containers flawlessly. This machine empowers you to manufacture your own bulk jars in-house, drastically cutting down on logistics and external procurement costs.
Blowing a 20-Litre jar is fundamentally different from blowing a 1-Litre bottle. The surface area of the jar is massive, meaning the internal high-pressure air exerts an incredible outward force on the mould during the blowing phase. To prevent the mould from bursting open, this machine is equipped with an ultra-heavy-duty, high-tonnage toggle clamping unit. Machined from forged steel, this clamping system securely locks the massive mould halves together, completely eliminating parting lines and ensuring the structural integrity of the jar.
A standard 20-Litre PET jar requires a heavy preform, typically weighing between 600 grams to 750 grams, with extremely thick walls. Standard infrared ovens cannot penetrate this thickness efficiently; the outside would burn before the inside softens. Our specialized Jar Making Machine features a widened oven pitch with customized, high-penetration infrared lamps. The heating rotation is slowed and precisely controlled, ensuring deep, uniform thermal saturation throughout the thick preform wall, which is absolutely critical for even stretching and uniform material distribution.
Operating typically in a 1-cavity configuration due to the immense size of the product, this semi-automatic or automatic machine reliably outputs 100 to 150 Jars Per Hour. This capacity is perfectly calibrated for medium to large regional bulk water suppliers. Over a single shift, a manufacturer can produce over 1,000 brand-new, sterile 20-Litre jars, ready to be washed, filled, and dispatched to corporate clients or distribution hubs.
A 20-Litre jar filled with water weighs over 20 kilograms. It must withstand aggressive handling, stacking, and frequent drops during transit. The blowing technology in our machine ensures precise control over the stretch rod descent and high-pressure blowing delay. This pushes the thickest part of the PET material precisely into the base and corners of the mould, creating a heavily reinforced bottom. The resulting jars easily pass stringent BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) drop tests and top-load crush tests.
Historically, the market relied on Polycarbonate (PC) jars, which are expensive, prone to scratching, and raise health concerns regarding BPA (Bisphenol A). PET jars produced on our machine are 100% BPA-free, significantly cheaper to manufacture, highly transparent, and fully recyclable. The ability to produce a high-quality PET jar for a fraction of the cost of a PC jar allows manufacturers to offer aggressive pricing in the competitive bulk water market, driving immediate business growth.
